I loved sewing at a young age when I learned the craft from my grandmother’s side. I put those skills to use – in historical designs for my dolls. I learned from my mother at age 9 or so and began with a dress for my first Irish dancing dress.
The original desire to make something by hand that was beautiful inspired my from childhood and still imbues my work today.
Inspiration can come from such unusual places. I could be walking through a castle in Ireland and see a piece of art on the wall or a swatch of material and be set off in a completely new collection of dresses. Making a dress come to life can take hundreds of hours of handwork that can only be accomplished by one person at a time. Nothing like these dresses currently exist and they have amazing stories to tell.

Dresses then started to have less intricate knotwork and significantly more sparkles. They moved away from using velvet, which was from the older styles, and moved to using full sequins and lighter fabrics like silk. Sparkle is in full force and even the socks get a little bling. Velvet is making a comeback, Woohoo. Funny how things go full circle
